Satsuma announces new Vendor Manager as part of the company’s restructuring process

Rio de Janeiro, May 23rd, 2022

Satsuma, one of the leading localization companies in Brazil according to Nimdzi’s 2020 ranking, announces its new Vendor Manager, Luiza Brando, replacing Ana Vivacqua in this role. The Vendor Management position is considered essential to reaching the company’s objectives outlined in their strategic plan for 2022, which foresees, among others, expanding the offer of qualified linguistic services, increasing agility in deliveries, and strengthening the relationship with the community of external vendors.

Luiza Brandão

Luiza Brando was first hired by Satsuma as a translator in 2015, right after earning a BA. in Translation at PUC-Rio, where she also pursued a graduate degree in Translation Techniques, Practices, and Studies, and Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language. She was promoted to translation coordinator for strategic accounts, being responsible for managing projects and maintaining linguistic quality.

As Vendor Manager, Luiza Brando is now responsible for all aspects related to outsourcing services, including vendor recruitment and onboarding, compliance, and quality management.

One of the focuses of the position is managing relationships with our different vendors and updating our database. One of her key objectives, however, is to make these processes more agile and efficient to support our company’s growth plan.

The announcement signals the beginning of the second phase in the company’s restructuring process, which began at the end of 2020 with the creation of the Human Resources function and the redefinition of key roles. In 2022, the company is focusing on increasing the value delivered to clients by hiring or promoting talented individuals to fill key roles, specifically Localization Engineering and Project Management.

Increasing in-house Engineering support will result in more operational agility by year-end, by significantly reducing the time it takes to present quotes and deliver projects. Satsuma has also adopted or developed internal systems to handle the expected increase in workload, including project management software, cloud-based translation tools, and financial systems.

Most importantly, however, Satsuma has adopted an OKR system to manage and track progress towards company-wide objectives, results, and metrics. With these changes, the company aims to foster a culture of agility and innovation to continue delivering customized solutions to current and new clients.
